Regarding this post. Did you link all of these "Combs" families to each other (e.g. Lewis was a son of Jahew, who was a son of William, who was a son of Edwin, who was a son of Clinton, etc.)?
My wife is a Combs and we believe we have traced her family as a decendant of Edwin and Sylvania, however, we have been unable to identify Edwin's parents.
I am not sure if this site is still even active. But just in case, Joe, to answer your question, Edwin I believe was the son of Andrew Anderson Combs (1809-1898) and Mary Polly Feltner (1813-1902). I also saw on this comment on the homepage that Clinton married Matilda, he did not marry his cousin Matilda Combs but he did have two children with her, Hiram and George. First he married Betts Combs daughter of Old Shade Combs, then he married Louanna Baker daughter of Isaac Baker & Eliza Griffith.
